A coincidence is related !by Sergt.Major Bezar dealing with his stay in Aden in 1858. Going along one of the streets one day he saw in a Parsee’s shop a copy of the Illustrated London Nows, containing, amongst other things, some sketches of New Zealand life and scenery. And one of them was. a, sketch of a native chief Tamate and his wife, drawn by R„ Brown, of New Plymouth. The paper was dated 1850, before the invention of photography, and all the illustrations were from sketches. Mr Bezar secured the copy and has kept it as a very treasured possession. ——III I ■ in wa—aWMßMßftti rahuh—ti ——a mmmm -ttrarm LATE ADVERTISEMENTS. .Sale, immediate delivery, sevoral hundred good broadleaf fencing posts.
