The Financial Times and the Financial Ne ws merely comment that the results of the Australian loans were expected. The Morning Post says th € recent high terms of foreign loans have rnomentari'y diverted the attention of the ordinary investor from gi't-edged -stock, and professional investors, aware of such a tendency, will doubtless endeavour to acquire new gilt-edged stocks at a discount if possible. It is not surprising, however, to find, as on previous occasions, that the discount rapidly disappears with the absorption of stock by purchases on the market.
