LONDON, Jan. 4. ‘‘The recent formation of the Health Society,” says the Daily News, “raises the question, ‘Should a doctor tell '{ The answer undoubtedly _ is, ‘Yes; through every channel, using newspapers, magazines, broadcasting and cinemas.’ “But prominent physicians and surgeons refuse to publish articles unless “The Health Society suggests,” adds note authorising publication, as a protection against the possibility of the General Medical Council, convicting them of advertising, and striking them off the register; while the newspapers refuses to publish the society’s authorisation, as it diminishes the attractiveness of the articles, stamping them as propaganda. “On the contrary, the British* Medical Association’s viewpoint is that doctor’s articles may lucratively increase the practice of the writers,_ injuring those who are unable to write. “The Health Soceity suggests,” adds the Daily News, “that the General Medical Council should he reformed by the Privy Council appointing experienced laymen to the council, thereby preventing attacks on doctors who are educating the public in the interests of general health.”
