MANAIA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A grand social and dance is to be held tin the Afanaia Town Hall on Wednesday night, January 13, in aid of the Manaia Maori Tennis Club. The committee has made all arrangements for the function. A, first-class supper ami floor will be provided, and special music will be played by the Maori jazz orchestra. There is sure to be a record attendance of the public, providing the weather is good. A first-class evening’s enjoyment is guaranteed to all who attend. Quite a number of the public attended to see the local scouts take their departure for the Jamboree at Dunedin on Saturday. The scouts were under the charge of Scoutmaster Allan.
