* AXEMEN’S COMPETITIONS. (BY TELKGHAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, Jan. 6. The attendance at! the Dunedin exhibition to-day was 23,885. The grand total is now 842,710. The exhibition competitions opened to-day. Great interest was taken in the axemen’s carnival, which will be concluded on Saturday. The results to dat-e are:—< 12-ineh Standing Chop—First heat: W.
