RHODES’ SCHOLARS.
ACADEMIC YEAR REVIEWED, BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received Dec. 31, 2.10 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 30. The report for the Rhodes Trust for the academic year 1924-25 states that during the year 63 Rhodes scholars tools up their scholarships for the first time; 185 scholars were in residence, 96 from the British Empire, 89 from the United States, also 16 ex-scholars. During the course of the year 57 scholars completed their term of scholarships or went finally out of residence without completing it,' and three scholars suspended residence temporarily. The academic year 1925-26 starts with 184 scholars in residence, with two more coming in January. There will also be 15 ex-scholars. Three 'died during the course of the year. The trustees have purchased a site from the Wadham College on which they will erect a building to he known as Rhodes House, to contain a hall for annual cjh lne rs, the trust’s Englishspeaking library, and the residence of the Oxford' secretary.-GReuter.
