The Rev. J. G. Chapman, who. died at Wellington yesterday, came to New Zealand as a young man and' studied for the Methodist ministry, commencing active service at Hawera in 1889 Subsequently ho was stationed at Wlington, Auckland and Wanganui, as well as at other - places. In 1923 he retired-' from- active work owing to failing health, after 34 years in the service of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his widow (a daxighter of the late Wm. Wiggins, of Wellington), two. daughters and one son.
