THE WORLD TEACHER.
AN EARLY COMING. A THEOSOPHIST’S OPINION. BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT ' . ' DELHI, Dec. 29. Airs. Annie Besant, in a. speech at the closing of the Jubilee Convention of the Theosophical Society at Madras, said she expected the early coming oi the World Teacher. The world was at the beginning of a new age. When the World Teacher appeared lie would found a new form on ancient truths, on which a new civilisation would be built. A new type of human kind would then be born. There was definite scientific evidence that a new type was appearing, that civilisation as it grew and developed would be- a civilisation of brotherhood. The World Teacher had slightly hastened the date of His coming on account of the troubles and the almost hopeless condition of the modern world. It was the World ’s great need that called Him from His great retreat in the Himalayas to the rescue of the world, which threatened to perish for lack of Him. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
