BRITAIN AND ITALY
AN IMPORTANT MEETING. BIG QUESTIONS DISCUSSED WAR- DEBTS AND DISARMAMENT. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON, Dec. 30. A meeting between Sir Austen Chamberlain and Signor Mussolini was made convenient- owing to both briefly holidaying at- comparatively adjacent places. The farmer is at Rapoolo and tlie latter, who had been spending Christmas with his family at Milan, interrupted his journey to Rome, meeting Sir Austen Chamberlain last night, when, after a civic reception, Signo-r Mussolini and Sir Austen Chamberlain dined at the Hotel Bristol, where the latter was staying. Signor Mussolini intends continuing to Rome to-day for a council of Ministers and consultation with Signor Volpi prior to the latter going to London for war debt conversations. It is naturally assumed that the subject was discussed by Sir Austen Chamberlain and Signor Mussolini, also that of disarmament, on which it is known that Signor Mussolini holds decided views - not in accord with Sir Austen Chamberlain’s. It was also expected that repercussions of the Turco-Russian treaty were reveiwed.
