JUMPED OFF A LORRY.

MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED The driver of a lorry carrying sixteen passengers from the New Plymouth -races last evening noticed the rapid approach of the race train to the uugby Road crossing too. late to stop, so he accelerated and got over just before the train dashed across. Two passengers, Patrick Coe and Theo. Skoglund, fearing an accident, jumped off the lorry just before the crossing was reached. Coe was not hurt, but Skoglund sustained a fractured skull and was removed to the hospital. This morning his condition was reported as being critical.
