The Japanese Consul was instructed to try to save the lives of minor generals, Kuo’s four surviving widows, and his 10 children. • < Chang-tso-lin refuses to promise not to execute Kuo’s relatives, and a general massacre is feared. Chang is celebrating the victory, also the arrival of a child to his fifth wife. Kuo’s forces at Shankaikwan have surrendered, thus clearing Manchuria of rebels.—Sun.
