As regards hitherto frequent use of undersized balls, the Marylebone Crickeu Club instructed umpires in future to see the weights and dimensions thereof were correct. The makers agreed to stamp a guarantee-on them. A meeting of first-class county captains decided to draw the attention of umpires that- in their opinion games after rain are not resumed as soon as possible. Secondly, ' that the practice of bowlers lifting the seam of balls is illegal.
It transpires that over sixteen thousand candidates are e’igible for ordinary membership of Marylebone C.C.
