SIZE OF CRICKET BALLS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON, Dec. 22. As regards hitherto frequent use of undersized balls, the Marylebone Crickeu Club instructed umpires in future to see the weights and dimensions thereof were correct. The makers agreed to stamp a guarantee-on them. A meeting of first-class county captains decided to draw the attention of umpires that- in their opinion games after rain are not resumed as soon as possible. Secondly, ' that the practice of bowlers lifting the seam of balls is illegal.
It transpires that over sixteen thousand candidates are e’igible for ordinary membership of Marylebone C.C.
