The King, in his speech at the prorogation of Parliament, f®iicl it lmd been a solace in his grief at his beloved mother’s death, to receive messages from all conditions and classes in- all parts of the dominions and foreign countries, containing touching assurances of sympathy. “L am happy at the welcome to the Prince of Wales on his return from bus tour,”, ms Majesty added. HI am proud to think that the visit served to deepen the affection and to unite my people. “I trust that the Locarno Pact will be not only the foundation of lasting peace, but will be the beginning of friendly co-operation, which cannot fail to benefit the whole world. My heartfelt prayer is till at this agreement shall advance co-operation and strengthen goodwill in Ireland. “| express my gratitude to a.ll throughout the Empire who co-oper at eel in connection with the Wembley Exhibition, and I am sure the increased knowledge it brought of the re- • sources and activities of my people will have busting and beneficial results.
