EXTREME COLD
EXTRA EDITION.
HAMPERS OPERATIONS. CHINESE TROOPS SUFFER AN ARMISTICE. REPORTED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Dec. 21, 12.10 p.m. PEKIN, Dec. 20. As frost-bite was causing much suffering among the rival armies outside Mukden, General Kuo, brigade commander of Kuosunglin’s advance guard, telephoned to General Wu, brigade commander of the Mukden Army, suggesting an armistice, whereupon, according to a report, the latter immediately agreed. Official advices indicate that operations are being held up owing to the extreme cold, but do not confirm the armistice negotiations.—Reuter.
