PONTIFF’S TEMPORAL POWER. PROPOSED SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTE. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYEIGHT. ROME, Dec. IS. Father Miele, who with Papal consent in 1919 published; a hook dealing with the temporal power and' conciliation, contributes to the newspaper Tribuna an important article, setting out the terms upon which the Papacy would settle the dispute with the Italian Government. Father Miele suggests the constitution within Rome of a small State completely subject to the Pope’s rule, and declares that negotiations are proceeding.
