THIS MORNING’S TRACK WORK

The weather was dull but fine for this morning’s training operations on the Hawera track. As on Thursday, all work was don© on the plough, which was a trifle slower. The first to work were Blue Peter and Benzora, who went five furlongs in 1.3|, with Blue Peter a length in front.

Shut-eye gave Sunny Vale a break of three or four lengths over five furlongs, and just ' failed to catch the leader. Shut-eye’s time was 1.2-J. San Fera, Bonogne, Bonona, Partaga, Marqueteur, Lady Bentinck, and a number of others did pace woi’k.

Merle and Bisox were restricted to slow work and were to gallop later in the day. Sunsliot had Empire Camp as a coin_ panion over seven furlongs, and was several lengths ahead at the finish. Time, 1.34. Sunshot was lame after working, and is an unlikely starter at the holiday meetings. Lacly Anstruther finished just ahead of Rehutai, with Gold Collector two lengths back over five furlongs, run in 1.4.

Troilus went a mrle and was picked up by Sovena at the six furlong post, but the latter did not seem to gallop kindly, and Troilus finished up with a two lengths advantage. /Hie last seven furlongs took 1.33, Maunu, Interest, and Husker went around over six hurdles. The latter got a big break at the start, but did not maintain it long. Interest led over the last hurdle, but there was little between him and Maunu at the finish. Maunu, who is going to the West Coast, may pay his way, but the other two did not impress. Seastar went six furlongs by himself

Atgue ran three furlongs in 37sec. Uncle Dave, who looks well, led Puawhato over six furlongs. Uncle Dave is booked for the West Coast. Sansalino was too good for Miss Maureen over five furlongs.
