Dr Yalintine says the hospitals in Hospital Board, said the hospitals in New Zealand compare very favourably with any he had seen in Great Britain or Europe, but in view of the depression he had seen in the Old Country lie had come back from his tour preaching economy at every turn. He was at present against any more country hospitals being erected. Some boards were asking too much in this respect. New Zealand was wed provided with public hospitals, and six beds were provided for everv thousand of the population — a much higher rate than under the voluntary hospital system in Britain.
