RADIUM THROWN AWAY.
DISCOVERY IN A SEWER. A SIX WEEKS’ SEARCH. NEW YORK, Dec. 1. A search which lasted six weeks at St. Paul, Minnesota, has resulted in the finding in a sewer-pipe of a tiny tube containing radium valued at £40.000. which had been _ thrown out by mistake from a hospital.' Professor Hendrickson constructed ionisation detectors, which, were attached to electroscopes, and began the hunt along the sewers. The tube was found within two inches of a divining rod’s mark.
