THE WELLINGTON TEAM. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 14. The following players have been chosen to represent Wellington against the Country team in a match to be played at Wellington on December 28 and 29: Collins, Hiddleston, McLeod, Tattersall, Brice, McGirr, Dempster, Badcock, Banks, Kortlang and Henderson, with Barclay twelfth man. HAWKE CUP. NELSON’S BIG LEAD. MARLBOROUGH STARTS BADLY. NELSON, Dec. 14. The Hawke Cup match was continued' this morning in perfect weather conditions. Nelson put on 462 before the last wicket fell. This is the biggest score yet made in a Hawke Cup contest. The feature of the game was the score of 113, made by A. Biggar, a College boy, who is taking part for the first time in an interprovincial fixture. He was at the wicket for H'6 minutes, and gave a splendid exhibition of clean, crisp cricket. M. Eden carried his score to 87, playing The fielding of the visitors was good, hut the howling was well collared, eight men having a turn at the crease. The : nnings lasted four and a half Hours. Further scores:—M. Eden 87, A. Biggar 113, Kemnitz 32, Newman 10, Sear 1 ! 31, extras 13, total 462. Pearpont took five crickets for 116 runs, the best of flic, bowling. With 3.46 in arrears, Marlborough commenced badly, losing M. Neal, Allardvce and Robson for seven runs. At the lunch adjournment three wickets were down for 13. .JUNIOR. GRADE. Hawera High School A team, beat B very easily, scoring a. three-point win and heating the latter by one innings and 41 runs. The A’s made 111 for four wickets and B’s totals were 33 and 37.
