Dammers, because he believed him to he a Communist spy. The two belonged to a party called Voihische, which aims at purifying Germany of all foreign especially Jewish ’influence. Lehder lured Dammers into the forest at leg 6 ]-. on outskirts of Berlin, and shot him. He had previously informed two members of the Reichstag. Wulle and Kube, of his suspicions. They declared that, such people must be destroyed. NX hen told that the murder had been accomplished they .appeared to be de ighted. One witness startled the court by statino- that Dammers had confided m him that he had been ordered oy the party’s leaders to assassinate I3i*. geverin, the Prussian Minister for the Interior.
