TO HELP THE PEOPLE

MR LLOYD GEORGE EXPLAINS.

REASON FOR LAND CAMPAIGN. TO FIGHT LAND MONOPOLY. BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. - Received Dec. 14, 10.30 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 13. Mr Lloyd George, speaking at Leeds, indignantly denied that he had started his land campaign for the purpose of regaining office. He took up the work because he desired to spend tb© rest of his life in the service of the people from which he had sprung. The Liberal Party was not an invalid stuffed with past glories, but- a great organisation capable of shattering the canker of the land monopoly, which had created slums whose pestilential pits poisoned thousands yearly.—Sydney Sun Cable.
