OPERATIONS NEAR MUKDEN. PROTECTING FOREIGNERS. .TAiPA/N SENDS MODE TROOPS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Dec. 10, 10.45 a.m. PEIKING, Dec. 9. Kuosungiing’s troops are advancing slowly. The main body is still at Oh inchow, but the advance guards are approaching Liaoho. iKuoiminchun’s itroops have now reached Yangtisun and the Lichinglinites have withdrawn to Pieteeng. Trains are running to-day between Peking .nad \PieniUsin. Inchingllin is reported to have taken personal command of the troops near Machang and claims that he has defeated two brigades of the second Kuominchnn army at Tzeyaho, and one brigade at Ta-c-heng. . Four hundred additional. Japanese troops have gone to Mukden. All foreigners in Hunminfu have been evacuated. It is understood that a' number of foreign women were given refuge at the Japanese and other consulates in Mukden, where all consuls held a meeting to .plan measures for the 'protection of nationals.
Hsinminfu was said to have been looted by Mukden troops to-day.— Reuter.
