NEW ZEALAND’S GOOD RECORD

A correspondent writing to one of the Sydney papers takes the city health officer. Dr. J. S. Purdy, to task lor the assertion that Sydney is the healthiest city in the world. He gives the palm to Wellington. The correspondent takes what lie says are the latest official figuics in respect to the death rate per 1004 for the States of the Commonwealth and New Zealand, to show that New Zealand and Queensland, with K. 3 and 3.9 respectively, hold pride of place. West Australia is allotted; .(third place, South, Australia fourth place and New South Wales fifth position. Victoria is last, according to this correspondent.
