Shirley Josephs, a thirteen months old child, was fatally scalded by upsetting a basin of water which had been placed on a- Chair near where he had been playing. DANGEROUS ELECTRICAL TOYS. It has been discovered that amongst imported electrical trains in this season ’s Christmas toys arc some which present a considerable risk of accident, owing to the fact that they are intended for connection to the ordinary house supply, and exposed metal parts make it possible for the user to get a severe shock. It is understood the Public Works Department is taking steps to bring the danger under the notice of all local electrical supply authorities. VERDICT OF SUICIDE. PALMERSTON N., Dec. 8. At the inquest on the circumstances surrounding the death of Francis Lawrence Scanibary, whose body was found in the Manawatu River last week, evidence was given that the deceased suffered from war disabilities. A verdict was returned of suicide by drowning while in a depressed state of mind, contributed to by his war disabilities and financial worry. EXHIBUTION FOR WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, Dee. S. Al a mooting of tiie Wellington Winter Show Association last night, the suggestion was made than an. Empire exhibition should be held in Wellington in 1930.
