GOVERNMENT AID WANTED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION — COPYRIGHT. Received Dec. 8. 10.25 a.m. NEiW YORK, Dec. 7. The losses on the Government merchant fleet’s operation for 1925 are estimated a;t thirty million dollars, according to a report presented by the Shipping Board to Congress to-day. The report urges aid, “either through preferential f*arifr duties or subsidies more or less direct,” in order to secure the' operation and continued existence of merchant ships under private ownership.—Reuter.
