Mr A. E. Copping, for 21 years managing editor of the Stratford Evening Post, has taken up the. position of associate editor on the Poverty Bay Herald.

A farew'ell function, to mark the esteem in which Mr. Dalgleish, senr., is held by members of the Hawera Milk Vendors’ Association, took place on Thursday. Mr. E. H. Piper (chairman), in expressing regret of having to bid good-bye to Mr. Dalgleish, said although Mr. Dalgleish had been a rival in business he had been a very friendly rival, and regarding the objects of the association he had always played the game. He had also put in a great deal of his own time in association business. Mr. J. P. Craig endorsed the chairman’s remarks. Mr. Dalgleish, in reply, said that if lie could do anything in Wellington to assist the association he w'ould be very pleased to do so.
