It is understood that the question as 'To whether the Pacific cable correspondence relating to Canada’s attitude Will be discussed at the next hoard meeting depends upon whether Canada will persist in her attitude, which has been described by several members as unwise and indefensible. Sir James Allen says that he cannot soe how the board could have acted differently, or how it coil'd alter its decision. The board had acted constitutionally throughout-. The duplication of the cable became inevitable owing to overloading and to the necessity for providing against a breakdown which was calculated to cripple the service.
