EXHIBITION TRAIN.
TOURING N.S.W. -BAOKHLOCKS. With the words, “Buy Australianmade” in massive red letters on its sides, especially conspicuous against the white in which it has been painted from end to end, the Great White Exhibition Train, organised toy the Austra-lian-mad© Preference League, in order to advertise goody of Australian manufacture, is now engaged on a six months’ tour of the country districts of New South Wales. Nothing like this great mobile show, in which the goods of manufacturers are most attractively displayed, has previously been organised in Australia. The goods are displayed in 16 specially constructed vans. In , addition, there are two sleepers, a dining-car, a brake van. and a power station to supply all the necessary power and light. The train, which is brilliantly illuminated at night, carries about 33 representatives of the Exhibition, as well as a big staff of the League officers. It will prove something of an eye-opener to the folk out in the Ear West, for example, and with the programme of musical items which will be wirelessly transmitted nightly and its own moving picture show it will bring a little new life into some of the remote country centres through which it threads its way. Direct telephonic communication between each compartment and the manager’s office is another evidence of the thorough organisation of this big show on wheels. The Exhibition, towards the cost of which the State Government has contributed £SOOO, should give a wonderful fillip to Australian industry.
