It is estimated that on the manning of all ships now affected by the strike being completed there will be about 200 men who cannot be absorbed, and these will have to be returned to England. -MIN' AT MELBOURNE RETURN. MELBOURNE, Dec. 1. A mass meeting of striking seamen derided to resume work immediately on the terms similar to those announced at Sydney. There tire now only four vessels idle in Melbourne. Many of the strikers have found employment ashore and will remain in Victoria. AFTERMATH OF THE STRIKE. SYDNEY, Nov. 30. Captains of the ships concerned, representatives of the owners and members of the British seamen’s strike executive have been formed into a committee to arrange for the manning of ships affected by-the strike. The men who have not rejoined the Beltana, Hurunui and Tairoa. by five o’clock tomorrow night will be posted as deserters. In Melbourne, where a similar committee is acting, the men will be given till five o’clock on Wednesday night to rejoin. When the ships whose crews are at the same port have been manned, the question of placing the men whose ships are at other ports will be dealt with. Finally the cases of men whose ships have left Australia will be considered, and an endeavour will be made to place them in other vessels.
