PERSONAL ITEMS.
Messrs. S. Blake, of Hawera, and Geo. Preece, of Matapu, have gone on an extended motor tour to the North Auckland districts.
Mr. H. P. Stratton, secretary of the Hawke’s Bay Trotting Club, accompanied by Mrs. Stratton, were in Hawera yesterday, having motored through on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. V. B. Stratton, of Hawera. At the'kspecial meeting of the Taranaki Rugby Union held last night at Stratford, votes of condolence were passed with Air. A. F. Neilson, Pihama, in the death of his wife, and with All*. E. H. Young, of Stratford, in the death of his mother. Air. and Mrs. F. W. Sutton returned to Hawera last evening after a three months’ holiday in Australia, which proved most enjoyable, and. their many friends will be pleased to'know that both Air. and Airs. Sutton aTe in the best of health and much benefited by the trip. They proceed to-day to spend the week-end in New Plymouth, where their sons are boarding pupils at thG High School.
