LOSS OF THE: RIPPLE. A WIDOW SUES OWNER. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 25. A c’aim lias been made by Maude Ellen Nicholson, widow of the late chief officer of the Ripple, which was lost, in a storm off Cape PrEiser on August 7, 1924, for. £ISOO damages from the owners of the steamer, Richardson and Co., of Napier. The case is being heard by Judge Alpers at the Supreme Court. Plaintiff’s case alleges that the ship went to sea in r,n unseyiworthy condition, owing to the way the cargo was stowed, and that th e company did not ascertain the advice of the Government Meteorologist as to tlffi prospects of danger from a, storm.
