EGMONT SHOW.
OPENS ON WEDNESDAY. Given fine weather, the display at this year’s Egmont Show, which will open on AVednesday, promises to be well on a par with the fine displays of previous years. Entries are very satisfactory, and in some sections are exceptionally good. The cattle section will be very strong, and will include many of the outstanding animals from the best breeders in the province. Special attention is called to the class for best dairy cow of any breed or cross, for which there are 19 entries. Competition in this will therefore be very keen and close. Horse leaping competitions will be among the best ever seen here, for the show has attracted an exceptionally strong entry. All other sections are well filled, and the home industries will be a great display. Special attention is drawn to the show sale of stock of all kinds to he conducted by the combined auctioneers —Farmers’ Co-op. , N.Z. Loan and Mercantile and Morrissey and Co. —at the A. and P. grounds on Thursday morning.
