TUG FOE WANGANUI. (by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION .) WANGANUI, Nov. 14. The Wanganui Harbour Board has decided to place an order with the English firm of Vickers for a twin screw steam and salvage tug at a price of £30,400. The vessel will be similar in profile to the tug Terawhiti, belonging to the Union Company, and will carry the most modern equipment. The building of the vessel commences at once. , RUN OVER BY TRAMCAR. V AUCKLAND, Nov. 14. Charles Ingersoll Dennis, residing at Curran Street, Herne Bay, died in the hospital from injuries sustained by being run over by a tramcar while crossing Queen Street yesterday afternoon. The motonnan applied the brakes promptly and the car pulled up in half a length. RAILWAY ADVERTISING. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 14. The Minister for Railways, Hon. J. G. Coates, this morning refused a request by the City Council that railway hoardings should be submitted to the City Council. He said the department needed the revenue from hoardings, and would not hand over the advertising management to the council. WESTLAND SEAT. HOKITIKA, Nov. 14. The returning officer for Westland expects the result of the recount of the votes will be available about seven o’clock to-night.
