EGMONT SHOW.
OPENS ON WEDNESDAY. PROSPECTS EXCELLENT. The great annual spring event in Hawera is the annual show of the Egmoiit A. and P. Association, which will be heid next Wednesday and Thursday. Entries are very satisfactory and indicate that there will be keen competition in every class. The cattle section is well filled, good entries being the rule. Jerseys, Ayrshires and Friesians will be well represented, especially in some of the younger classes. Most- of the leading exhibitors wil be strongly represented. A very good class, too, will be the cows under 0.0. R. test, in connection with the Jersey Club, The horse leaping competitions will be very strongly contested, there being ten each in the champion and open and nine in the wire jumping. Amongst the competing horses will be five champions of past years at various shows. The horses entered include Gentleman Joe (Wanganui), Osprey (Hawera and other shows), Chance (Stratford), Gilgai and Curve. Everything points to a most successful provided, of course, the weather is ITne. Much interest is being taken by all concerned and by exhibitors from other districts.
