Cornwall, H. C. Samson (New Plymouth). , _ Acknowledging a welcome by Mr fe. Hollard, who acted for the president (Mr D. Malone), who was unavoidably absent, Mr Lepper isaid that these meetings could not fail to be of interest- and value to breeders, because of tlie useful interchange of ideas. He regretted that the Hawera Club had resolved to withdraw from the Council, and hoped' that at some future date Hawera might again join. TRUCKING O'N RAIL.

The secretary reported that nothing had been done by the Railway. Department towards improved trucking facilities. COW TESTING. A remit came from New Plymouth to the effect that the Department be urged to amend the C.O.R. testing of purebreds by allowing five to seven days to elapse before commencing the official test. Mr Cornwall, the chairman, in supporting the remit, stressed that milk had no commercial value for at least five days, and Mr O’Sußivan mentioned that in America a month was allowed to elapse.—This remit was carried, and also another from New Plymouth that the period of test he altered to 305 days, the cow to calve in twelve months, or that the owner be given the option of 365 days. PARTNERSHIP TRANSACTIONS. A remit that in the case of a partnership being formed between members of the association the meinbers entering lie allowed to transfer stock from the individual to the partnership at half rates. —After some discussion, in which all agreed as to the reasonable nature of the suggestion, it was decided to withdraw the remit pending the receipt of a ruling on the subject. VERIFICATION OF SERVICE. A -remit was moved by Mr 'O’Sullivan . “That, it being impossible for the owner of a bull who has hired the same to another breeder to verify service, provision b© made for such cases on registration and traiisfer forms.” He said that in the case of a breeder wanting the loan of a bull the owner of the bull was not in a position to certify to service and was therefore p’aced in a peculiar position. After a brief -discussion, the remit was amended to the following and carried : “That, it being impossible for the owner of a bull, who has hired same to another breeder, to verify service, the New Zealand Council consider the matter of printing special forms to- meet such cases.”

Hearty appreciation was expressed of the hospitality of the Kaponga Club, and votes of thanks to- the chairman and the Pres s concluded a- good meeting.
