FRENCH FINANCE.
ADVICE TO GOVERNMENT. TO AVOID INFLATION. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPY BIGHT. • PARIS, Nov. 8. The finance committee of the Chamber, by 17 votes to 14, resolved to urge the Government to avoid ihflation, specifying various points on which it disagreed with the Government’s financial proposals. The committee agreed with the necessity for creating a sinking fund, but raised serious objections regarding the scope of the fund, , and expressed a desire to hear the Prime Minister (M. Painleve) before deciding. Hence a few dave’ further delay is inevitable.
Though subsequently they turned down a Communist motion for the definite rejection of the proposals, the Radical Socialists voted against them in . order to emphasise the desire to make the Government’s scheme a basis for discussion.
