THE ITALIAN SENSATION. REPUBLIC AIMED' AT. BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHT' ROME, Nov. 7. Several persons have bee.m arrested on suspicion of complicity in the plot to assassinate the Prime Minister (Signor Mussolini), who received thousands of telegrams of congratulation, not only in Italy, but from abroad. The Fascist newspajier Epoca says the. plot is more- ambitious than was originally supposed. It aimed not only at * killing Signor Mussolini, but was intended] to. be the starting point for a revolution and tlve declaration of a republic. The police made numerous raids in the Genoa- district. Eight were arrested and thirty detained for judicial examination. Those arrested include the editor of the Socialist newspaper Illavoro, whose offices are occupied by the police;- Uliese Ducci, chief of the Free Italy Association, which was recently dissolved as subversive; and a brother of General Capello, who was previously arrested.
