DANCE IN AID OF SCHOOL FUNDS

l a T ievr augmenting the funds or the school at Whareroa, arrangement were made by the committee and the head teacher, Miss McCormack, to hold a dance in the hall, which also does duty as a .school. This dance was held on Friday evening and was m every way a great success. The resuit will be a substantial addition to the school funds.

There were about fifty couples present and they danced to excellent music provided first by Miss Rogers and later assisted by Mr. H. C. A. Fox. The floor was in good order and this, combined with the music, ensured an enjoyable time to all present. Mr. R. Morrissey acted as M.O. and spared no efforts to do hi.s share of the araragements in looking after the dancers. .. A dainty supper was provided by the ladies and this also was much appreciated. During supper a number of extras were played by local residents and visitors. There were quite a number who came from Hawera - and from other parts of the district and all thoroughly enjoyed the dance.
