HAWERA MALE CHOIR.
CONCERT ON WEDNESDAY. ' | AN EXCELLENT PROGRAMME. The prospects for the next concert of the Male Choir, to be given in the Opera House on Wednesday, are of the best. The choir, under its energetic conductor (Mr Clement Howe), has been rehearsing assiduously, and will present a very good series of numbers, including the famous part song “The Long Day Closes,” to be sung in honour of Armistice Day. The soloists assisting the choir are Miss Olive Grindrod (Hawera) and Mr W. Gemmell (Dunedin). Both are popular singers, especially amongst the people of their own districts. Mr Gemmell, too, is known throughout the Dominion ■ as ■ a baritone of outstanding quality and attainment. In addition the Hawera Male Quartette will contribute two numbers. This combination has proved itself to be an excellent one, and is popular with music lovers.
The programme to be given will serve to maintain the high standard set by the society.
