OPAPA DERAILMENT
MANSLAUGHTER ALLEGED. CHARGE AGAINST DRIVER. REMAND GRANTED. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) NAPIER, Nov. 7. At the court at Napier this morning, Frederick Lavin, the driver of the Napier-Wellington express train which \va s derailed at Opapa on September 22, resitting in the deaths of Murdock Campbell,. Edward Vivian Iggulden and Kathleen Begley, all of whom subsequently expired from injuries sustained in the accident, was charged with manslaughter in the case of each of the victims. On the application of the police, a remand was granted to November 14, when a further remand till the 19th inst. will he asked for. Mr B. J. Dolan appeared for the accused, and asked for bail, which was granted in one personal surety of £SO and two sureties of £250.
