There was a heavy hailstorm about 10.30 a.m., but the sun is now (noon) shining. There is a large attendance, and the course is somewhat 1 heavy. Results: Gordon Handicap —Bay Dighton 1, Wyoming 2, Cocoanut 3. Scratched: Adi Vunivola, Maveelish, Royal Mint, Romania's, Vexatious and Nippy. Won by half a length, a similar distance between second and ward. Time, 1.41 2-5. Great Northern Guineas. —King Lu 1, King’s Speech 2, The Thorn 3. Scratched: Aropeta, Oration and Cocoanut. Won by two lengths, third one length back. Time, 1.41. Shorts Handicap.—King Merv 1, Finelli 2, Pelham and Oration (dead heat) 3.
