SECRETARY RESIGNS

Mr. V. Hugo, secretary of tbe New Zealand Athletic Association, has resigned on the ground that he had lost the confidence of some of the members of the council, and also because he considered he had been discredited abroad by the action of the Wellington centre in taking up the matter of a visit from the American athletes. He was urged to reconsider liis decision, hut refused..
