A garage proprietor, at- Patoham, near Brighton, hearing an engine racing, found Arthur Seymour, aged 34, and his fiancee, Gwendoline Protherough, aged 21, pinned helpless underneath a motor cycle, whose exhaust pipe was red hot, and was burning Sevmour’s leg to the bone. Despite his agony, he dipslayed unselfish heroism, and Raid, “Do not worry about me. Look after Gwen.” DOUSED WITH OATMEAL. KipKWOOD AT GLASGOW. LONDON, Oct. 16. Mr. D. Kirkwood, Labour M.P., attempting to address Glasgow University students, was received with disorder. One undergraduate, leaning from the gallery, tipped a sack of oatmeal over Mr. Kirkwood, covering his head and shoulders. Mr Kirkwood tried for 15 minutes to speak until the president of the Students’ Union restored order.
