PATEA FARMERS.
MEETING OF FRIEEIZTNG COMPANY Mr. Charles Dickie, chairman of directors, presided over a. fair attendance of shareholders at the annual meeting on the Patea Farmers’ Co-op-erative Freezing Company, Limited, on i Wednesday. -r In moving the adoption of the report, the chairman said he regretted that the balance-sheet disclosed a loss of £150,000, which was attributable to the high schedule prices ruling for stock in New Zealand and the decline in mutton and lamb' prices on the market, together with the slump in wool. The largest number of killings in the history "of the company was recorded last year, and every effort was made to economise in working expenses. The disposal of by-products had been very satisfactory. He thanked the management and staff for loyal support during the year. On behalf of the shareholders, Mr. Christensen expressed the appreciation of all the directors for their taking on. the heavy responsibility, through which) means the works were able to be carried on satisfactorily. He added that he was satisfied the works were run on more sound and economical lines than any other in the Dominion. The appreciation expressed by Mr. Christensen was briefly acknowledged by Mr. Dickie. The retiring directors, Messrs .1. Hawken, H. Dickie and W. H. Kent, were re-elected, and Messrs. Burdekin, Walldey and Cameron were re-appoint-ed auditors. . A hearty vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
