PRIMARY SCHOOLS TOURNAMENT
OKAIAWA WINS A GRADE,
B GRADE GOES TO STRATFORD.
The primary schools basket ball tournament which was played at Hawera on Saturday resulted in Okaiawa winning the A grade championship and Stratford the B grade. All the games were keenly contested and the Anal result was due to strenuous work by the winners. The ladies in charge of the tournament were:—Miss E. M. Elley (president of the ladies’ executive of the central and southern Taranaki Schools’ A Union), Miss F. M. Ritchie (secretary and treasurer). The committee included the Misses C. G. Robertson (organiser), Finncrty, McKenzie and Martin. The following ladies refereed the matches: Airs. Anderson and the Misses D. Martin, Petersen, Tarry, H. Lindop and McKenzie. The detailed results of the semi-finals of the A grade championship was: Okaiawa 20 v. Manaia 4. The final was: Okaiawa 16 v. Hawcra Convent 9. The final of the B grade championship was: Stratford f!G v. Ha wera 4.
