MAN DROPS DEAD.

OLD KAKARAMEA RESIDENT.

Mr. Joseph Alford, aged 74, who had been a resident of Kakaramea for o 0 years, dropped dead at the gate of his home at abouff half-past eight o’clock on Sunday morning. Mr. Alford, who was a labourer by occupation, had been up and about for some time and had gone out to the road to meet a neighbour from whom he was in the habit of getting a supply of whey for his pig. The neighbour carried a bucket of whey in, leaving the old' man by the cart. When the neighbour returned Mr. Alford was dead. ; Deceased had been attended by a doctor previously, and a certificate of death by heart failure was readily forth* coming.
