PRIMARY SCHOOLS TOURNAMENT. The primary school girls of Taranaki were favoured with, splendid weather —although rather hot for the game—for their basket-ball tournament, held in Hawera to-day. Fourteen teams competed, nine in the A grade and five in the B grade. Results: A GRADE. First Round. Tawhiti 17 beat Inglewood 8. Stratford 7 beat Hawera 5. Hawera Convent 10 beat Tokaora 8. Manaia 10 beat Eltham 7. Second Round. Okaiawa 22 beat Tawhiti 16. Hawera. Convent 8 beat Stratford 7. B GRADE. First Round. Hawera 18 beat Eltham 6. Stratford 17 beat Okaiawa 4. Second Round. Hawera 6 beat Manaia 3.
