BOWLING

PARK CLUB. On Monday last (Labour Day) a progressive pairs competition was held. The morning opened fine and a good day’s play was expected, but as the day advanced the weather became so bad that the competition bad to be abandoned at 4 o’clock. Mr. J. J. Goodwin with four games to his credit was the winner. The first game of the season for the feathers was played yesterday when the holders went down to the challengers by a small margin. The scores being (holders) Crompton, Wainwright, Chadwick and Kendall 16, (challengers) Brown, Bullock, Thurston and Cunningham 18. The buttons competition will he resumed on Saturday next.
