BANDS’ CARNIVAL.
AN APPEAL TO CITIZENS. BY LADIES’ COMMITTEE. ; (To the Editor). Sir,i—We ladies are very disappointed at the attendance at the Bands’ Carnival Bazaar yesterday. The chairman (Mr Dixon) convened a meeting of ladies about two months ago, a committee was formed, and since that date they have been working very hard in the interests of the Municipal Band and the Pipers. - ... To say the least of it, it is most discouraging to the .ladies who volunteered their services in the interests or the town to find the lack of public interest. It is not too late to get behind this effort, and make a success of the remaining days. We appeal to all sections of the community to patronise this bazaar and make it the success thatmost bazaars have been for a good object. ' -‘ . '1 , ' As citizens of the town, we feel that, in view of the hearty support we have had from the country districts, it is the duty of the townspeople to do their part, namely, ro’l up to the bazaar and help us along.—We are, etc., B. PAOEY, President Bazaar. Ladies’ Committee. M. SIMPSON, Secretary Bazaar Ladies’ Committee. Hawera, Oct. 29.
