GERMANY WANTS THEM BACK. BY CABLE—PEEKS ASSOCIATION—COPYEIGHT. LONDON, Oct. 26. The Evening Standard mentions that there are indications that the first substantive act after Germany’s entrance into the League of Nations will be an agitation for the return of her lost colonies. The policy will apparently be a recognition of the fact that the return of German East and South-west Africa is impossible, and the agitation is likely to be concentrated on the return of the Camaroons. s It would be unwise to underestimate this new feeling or rather revival of old feeling as a source of future friction. Hamburg is now reviving as a shipping centre, but its eyes turn to South America rather than to Africa. Berlin is, however, thinking again of a place in the sun. v
